Darren Pratley continues his comeback from a shoulder injury, but Garry Monk (back) joins casualties Gorka Pintado, Marcos Painter and Ferrie Bodde.
Derby County manager Nigel Clough told BBC Radio Derby:
"We've played teams in the last few weeks who are around us.
"But these two teams [Swansea and Bristol City] have got aspirations of challenging for the Premier League, so it'll be a different sort of game.. and it'll be interesting to see how we fair against them."
